How to Store Rice So It Stays Fresh After Dispatch

16 August 2026

Cool, dry, off the floor — simple storage rules that protect aroma, texture and shelf life for retailers and homes.

Milling can be perfect and the bag can still suffer in a damp godown. Rice keeps best below moisture pickup: stacked off the floor, away from direct sun, and away from strong-smelling goods like spices or soap.

For retail pouches, rotate stock on a first-in, first-out basis and keep opened bags clipped tight. For 25 kg and 50 kg trade bags, avoid leaning stacks against outer walls during monsoon. Aeration in the aisle matters as much as the bag quality.

Most of our table rice is packed for about 12 months in a cool, dry place. If you run a monthly supply contract, tell us your lifting pattern — we can align packing dates so what you receive is as fresh as the mill can make it.
